Women in News (WIN) - Stakeholders

Women in News (WIN) aims to increase women’s leadership and voices in the news. It does so by equipping women journalists and editors with the skills, strategies, and support networks to take on greater leadership positions within their media. In parallel, WIN partners with media organisations to identify industry-led solutions to close the gender gap in their newsrooms, boardrooms and in the content they produce.

WIN is currently working with more than 80 media from 12 countries throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East including: Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe (WIN Africa) and  Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine (WIN MENA). WIN Southeast Asia launched in early 2018

Internews - Stakeholders

Internews is an international non-profit organization. It aims at empowering local media worldwide and to provide people a mean to make their voices heard. It also carries out research and training activities addressed both to media professionals and citizen journalists. Internews has worked in more than 90 countries, and currently has offices in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and North America.

Media, Conflict and Democratisation (MeCoDEM) - Stakeholders

The project ‘Media, Conflict and Democratisation ’ investigates the role of traditional media and ICTs in conflicts that accompany and follow transitions from authoritarian rule to more democratic forms of government.

The project si funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme until 2017, and it is coordinated by the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds.

The project will investigate the interplay between media and democratisation conflicts in four countries: Serbia, Egypt, Kenya and South Africa.

European Broadcasting Union (EBU) - Stakeholders

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is a leading alliance of public service media (PSM). It serves 73 Members in 56 countries that run over 780 TV and 1040 radio services and broadcast in 123 languages to a potential audience of 1.03 billion people. An additional 34 Associates operate in Asia, Africa and the Americas. The EBU operates Eurovision and Euroradio.

EBU supports and strengthens public service media, providing media services and offering a centre for learning and sharing.
